A Letter from Carrie

Hello to our Woods’ neighbours, many of whom became dear friends…

This is Carrie (Salentyn)…as Thanksgiving just passed, I thought it would be a perfect time to reach out to tell you that we officially sold our home in The Woods on October 1st to a lovely family and that I have moved to a cozy little cottage in Bayfield, pretty well around the corner from Bianca and her precious family.

Jaap designed our home, with his very special Dutch touch, 31 years ago and we absolutely loved living in the Woods. Not only were Jaap and I warmly welcomed into the neighbourhood, but Michael and Bianca quickly made friends as well and many wonderful summers were spent exploring our backyard backing onto the beautiful Old Ausable river.

The Huron Woods Community  became a pillar of strength for us when our precious Michael was taken from us on the very last day of his 4 year University CAM program…Our lives were changed forever as a bereaved family and still, neighbours reached out to support us. We will always be thankful for that. Now, as we also lost our beloved Jaap, we were once again shown the warmth and caring kindness of our Huron Woods Community. Thank you 🧡

As you all know, Bayfield is another lovely community and living so unbelievably close to Bianca, Sasha and our precious Rosalie, Frasier and Henry has been absolutely wonderful.

I know that Huron Woods will always feel like home to us…thank you for having made our years living there so enjoyable.
