Notice to Members: Community Engagement and Maintenance Initiative
To maintain and improve the clubhouse and grounds, it’s time to shift expectations within HWCA. A Community Engagement and Maintenance Initiative was introduced at the AGM on Friday, June 26, 2026. Rather than relying solely on the board, we’re encouraging members to take part in keeping our property clean, functional, and welcoming. Sharing the responsibility will help us respond more quickly to ongoing needs.
More community involvement will help us:
• Reduce pressure on the board
• Keep the clubhouse and grounds in better condition
• Encourage ownership and teamwork
• Help maintain property value and enjoyment
Please take a moment to complete the Volunteer Sheet below to let us know which areas you’d like to help with (organizing, cleaning, purging, gardening, weed control, and more).
We support community involvement in caring for our lovely clubhouse. We are not in a good position to be active worker bees and send regrets. If you structure a Let’s weed the Property day/ let’s Clean the Kitchen Day… we could look to participate. Our Miriam is a tremendous help and likes to feel valued. We would also stress the importance of people benefiting from our beautiful space… not leave their garbage expecting clean up from volunteers. This is especially problematic when one pays dues; rents the clubhouse for an event; finds it unclean and is paying for a cleaner after the event. A little respect goes a long way. Much appreciation to the dedicated community volunteers who have hosted events and cared for our beautiful clubhouse!!
