Change to Gypsy Moth Spring 2022 Spray

The Huron Woods Outbreak Team finished their involvement in gypsy moth control efforts after the aerial spray last spring, but want everyone to know there has been a change to the procedure should any residents wish to spray in the future.

Going forward, the Ontario Centre for Forest Defoliator Control (OCFDC) will be handling all the logistics for the 2022 Gypsy Moth Program.

Zimmer Air Services Inc. will still be conducting the aerial spray application. You can visit the OCFDC website for more information www.ocfdc.co

Book Donations

Thanks to your donations throughout the pandemic our collection has grown to a point that the supply now exceeds both the demand and space limitations.

We ask that you PLEASE not drop off book donations at the Clubhouse.

There are charitable organizations in our community that DO accept used books:

Blessings Community Store in Zurich: 519-236-4376

ARC Angels Thrift Shop in Dashwood: 519-237-3774

Unfortunately, some books just don’t hold general appeal anymore. Both shops would appreciate the opportunity to discuss what you plan to donate beforehand. Sometimes recycling is the preferred option.

Thanks for your understanding.

Lambton Shores operates a Leaf Pick Up Program in the spring and fall at no charge. The fall Leaf Pick Up Program runs from Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 until Friday, November 19th, 2021.

During this period, bagged leaves left at the curb will be picked up as long as they meet the requirements below:

  • All leaves must be in brown paper bags. Plastic bags are not accepted
  • Only leaves will be picked up. No garbage, brush, or other yard waste
  • All bags must be placed at the curb for pick-up

Please do not rake leaves on to the streets or in ditches. This can cause drainage problems and poses a danger to pedestrians, bicycles, and motorists.
