Santa Claus is coming to Lambton Shores!Santa will be dropping by the Shores Recreation Centre during Public Skating on Saturday, December 24th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Bring the family, lace up your skates and have some fun!
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLINGThe Municipality of Lambton Shores will once again provide Christmas tree drop-off depots up until January 10th, 2017.
Depots are located at the following Community Services Yards:
- 9575 Port Franks Road – Northville
- 6276 Townsend Line, Forest(old arena)
Municipal Office Holiday HoursAll Municipal Administration Offices will be closed for the holiday season from Friday, December 23, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. and re-opening Monday, January 2nd, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.
Holiday Schedule for Garbage & Recycling PickupThere will be no interruption to the Bluewater Recycling garbage and recycling pickup over Christmas and New Year’s.

Leaf Pick Up Program – Fall 2016Leaves can be bagged for pickup by the Community Services Department.
This program is in effect October 24 – November 21, 2016, and is as follows:
- All leaves must be bagged in BROWN PAPER BAGS. Clear bags will NOT be accepted.
- Only bagged leaves will be picked up; not garbage or brush please.
- All bags must be placed at the curb for pickup.
- Leaves will be picked up sometime during the week as time and quantity dictate.
- If your leaves are missed please call 519-243-1400, toll free 1-866-943-1400 and pickup will be arranged.
Please be advised that leaves raked onto the street or piled in the street or ditch will not be collected. This poses a danger to pedestrians, bicycles and motorists and can cause drainage problems.
School is Back!!!School is back in session here in Lambton Shores which means the buses will be back on the road. Please take care on the roads to ensure the safety of children on their way to and from school.
Hockey SeasonWith the impending start of hockey season, the traffic at the Shores Recreation Centre will increase.
For the safety of your children and the other users of the facility, parking and unloading vehicles is NOT permitted in front of the main entrance to the Shores Recreation Complex. Please use the loading/unloading area provided.
The By-law officer will be patrolling this area, and you are asked to comply with the regulations to avoid receiving a parking infraction.

The Municipality of Lambton Shores, in cooperation with the Provincial Ministry of Transportation, has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process to consider alternatives to address ongoing traffic congestion along the Ontario Street corridor through Grand Bend. Continued traffic congestion along the corridor, particularly during peak tourist periods, has necessitated an examination of options aimed at improving the flow of traffic through the area.
A Public Information Centre has been scheduled to advise residents about the project and to receive input from interested parties on the alternatives being considered in regards to the traffic congestion problem.
Details of the Public Information Centre are as follows:
- Date: Wednesday August 24, 2016
- Time: 3 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm.
- Location: Grand Bend Legion, 20 Municipal Drive, Grand Bend

- Beach Concession Operators
- General Maintenance – North & South Areas
- Grand Bend Beach House & Beach Area Attendants
- Grand Bend Harbour Dock Hands
- Port Franks Harbour & Maintenance Attendants
All interested persons are requested to either email or mail a resume with attached cover letter stating interested position no later than 12 noon Friday, March 18th, 2016. The Municipality will accept resumes from all interested persons for these postings. Application is not limited to students only.
