Take a Walk on the Wildflower Side

Here’s a little test-your-knowledge contest for all you wildflower enthusiasts. Below are photos of many of the wildflowers blooming along our roadsides right now. How many can you identify? Try naming them and email me your guesses: Angela@hwca.ca. I won’t be fussy about common or formal names – either Black Eyed Susan or Rudbeckia will do. It just can’t be a made-up name.

I’ll give you a few days and then let you know how you did. Yes, YOU too could wear the Wildflower Crown 👸

So, next time you are out for a stroll, be on the lookout for these beauties. It will be August in another week and a whole new wave of blooms will be opening up. Something to look forward to. 🌺

The bloom is spent but the caterpillar should be a good clue

Wildflower #22
Clue: Blooming a bit early. Usually at its height in August

Clearly not a wildflower. This colourful little winged creature was hiding in my moth trap. 5 bonus points if you can name it.
