Ron Hunt – Celebration of Life Information

Mardelle  Hunt asked that I share this information with Huron Woods Residents.

HUNT, Ronald Wallace

I passed peacefully at home in Grand Bend with my family in my 79th year on March 26, 2017. WOW! What a great life I had! I was raised mainly in the London area and attended Medway High School and the Western Business School in London before starting work in the telecommunications industry mainly in Toronto and Montreal focusing on Customer Service and Information Technology. My roots go back in London to an old established family whose great-grandfather Charles Hunt originally built the Hunt Flour Mill at the forks in the Thames in 1855. My parents – Ronald Alexander and Kathleen Hunt (Wallace) and sister Barbara (Bunny) Hunt (Ingram) and brother David are all predeceased. I was the proud father of 3 sons – Geoffrey and Renata of Toronto, David and Shelley of Sault Ste. Marie and Ron and Debra of Brampton in addition to 4 special grandchildren. My life partner for the past 54 years was Mardelle (Doan) who was raised in St. Thomas and West Lorne and her parents were David and Isabel Doan (Wilkins). Mardelle has a sister Janyce who is married to Bill Perritt of Kilworth and they have raised 2 beautiful married families who live in that area including Joel & Charlotte Perritt and Christa & Aaron McCall who collectively have 6 grandchildren. I also leave a niece Becky Shea (Ingram) & her husband Brent of London and their families as well as a nephew, John Ingram. For the past 17 years I was active in the Rotary Club of Grand Bend and a member of Grand Bend Probus.
A Celebration of Life is planned at the Grand Bend Legion, 20 Municipal Drive, Grand Bend on Sunday April 9, 2017 from 2 pm – 5 pm. Come and share a few happy stories & memories revisited about 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, if desired charitable remembrances can be donated to Wellspring London, a great supportive organization for those living with Cancer.  Condolences, tributes or donations may be made through LONDON CREMATION SERVICES (519) 672 – 0459 or online at www.londoncremation.com. My family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care, compassion and support given from: Dr. Younus, Mark Nelham and the cancer teams at Victoria Hospital, Dr. Banner, Dr. Michael Hammond (Grand Bend Medical Centre), the Emergency Services at the South Huron Hospital in Exeter, Wellspring London staff and volunteers and a special thanks to the Lambton CCAC home support group that assisted so ably.
