This is for Large General Items
Ø For the disposal of hazardous materials, such as paint, oils etc. contact Clean Harbours: 1-866-324-691
For the disposal of large metal products, such as a stove, contact www.tryrecycling.com or Scrapper John in Exeter: 519-235-1662
Ø For the disposal of electronic items, such as a television, computer, printer etc., contact the Grand Bend Municipal Office: 519-238-8461
Ø For free refrigerator or freezer removal visit: everykilowattcounts.ca or Call 1-877-797-9473
We will not accept hazardous wastes of any kind, especially motor oil, paints and batteries.
Please Do not bring regular household garbage, or recyclable items that would go in your blue box.
Banned Items
Items listed below may be a hazardous waste, leachate toxic hazardous waste, PCB waste, radio active waste, ignitable waste or waste recommended for recycling:
v Contaminated soil
v Spill clean-up wastes from spills of hazardous materials
v Rags used to clean metals or from refinishing furniture
v Oil filters
v Floor sweepings in areas where hazardous materials are managed
v Electronic waste e.g. televisions, computer equipment, printers/fax machines, mobile phones etc.
v Fluorescent light tubes, fluorescent lighting ballasts (fixtures) manufactured before 1979
v Smoke detectors
v Asbestos (including ceiling tiles and insulation)
v Chemicals — sludge waste, filter cakes, industrial waste, herbicides, pesticides
v Liquid waste or sewage
v Dead animals
v Hazardous wastes e.g. biomedical/pathological wastes, paints, oils, batteries or propane tanks
v Rubber tires
v Beverage containers
v Yard clippings
v Any item that can be recycled
v Any waste that might have properties that potentially make it hazardous to the environment or to public health and safety
v Usual household garbage e.g. food waste, paper waste etc.
